WEATHERFIELD nurse Aggie Bailey is in hot water as her new boss has shocking plans for her.

The Coronation Street character portrayed by Lorna Laidlaw realises there may be some truth to his reputation.

Aggie was recently transferred to a brand new ward and has had to get used to another routine.

This includes meeting her new boss, Weatherfield General's new head doctor, Henry Thorne (played by Killing Eve star, Dominic Mafham).

While she begins to work with the doctor, Aggie gets wind that his behaviour in hospital may cause some tension as he's known to be a stickler for detail.

However, Aggie is later stunned when he gives her a warm welcome to her new job and she can't help but notice his charming disposition.

Next week, however, Aggie gets on Dr Thorne's bad side and suffers the consequences.

It all begins when Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) attends a consultation with the doctor, several months after his life-changing liver transplant.

Dr Thorne believes Aggie is trying to make him look bad in front of his patient and issues her with a verbal warning.

But when she overhears him gloating to a colleague about how he rushed Peter's operation in order to win a bet, tensions arise even further.

Aggie tells another nurse that Dr Thorne was reported and later learns that all of his operations have been cancelled until further notice.

Still evidently seething from their previous encounter, Dr Thorne firmly believes Aggie is to blame for his downfall.

He accosts her and proceeds to threaten her once again, announcing he plans to make her life at the hospital a misery.

Aggie may receive the support of some Weatherfield residents, mainly Peter Barlow who will be the main character to suffer from Dr Thorne's actions.

Peter struggled with his reliance on alcohol and his health was rapidly deteriorating, which forced him to get a liver transplant.

But when he realises the man who saved his life is making a game out of it, Peter may face a relapse.

His wife Carla (Alison King) may even get involved.

Meanwhile, stoic, loyal and dutiful Aggie was suspected to embark on an affair with her new boss, months after she was accused of cavorting with Tim Metcalfe.

Sadly for her, it a love affair seems unlikely as she's set for some bullying in the wards.
